lyrics

Grey Whales

I watched the storm clouds blowing over the bay
Nature will take her course, and catch us anyway
In a thunder rush
Lightning strikes all around
In gold and lavender
Haven’t I known you before this?
Wasn’t it in Monterey,
Out on Asilomar
Watching the Grey Whales as they
Swam south
Followed by the Orcas
I dreamt I swam along
Through waters warm and blue

What matters time to me?
It’s all relative
As the waves turn the rocks to sand
And in a thousand years
Who will walk this beach
A distant different shoreline
I talk about eternity
It all comes back to me
As the sun sets
And the wind blows
This could be anytime
While whales still swim the seas
